Talking with clients, we often start our sessions with 3 deep breaths, or take a break to reset our energy with 3 deep breaths. Having just visited SE Asia and meditated in a multitude of Buddhist, Shinto, Confusious and Daoist temples, I was reminded that the Eastern philosophies are experts in resetting, and meditating. We in the west need “scientific proof”, so I’m providing an article from Pyschology Today. What is more reliable, science or thousands of years of ancient wisdom?
In our travels we saw Shinto disciples practicing archery. I wondered how important breathing was for them?
The scientific method generally includes asking more questions and redefining what is acceptable. Scientist are often quoted as being factual and perfect. While the Buddha and Confusious are often quoted as wise and wonderful……. What is better, wisdom or science?
Whatever the results, let’s all just take a few seconds, take 3 deep breaths, and clear our minds, whatever the results, we can have minute of refreshment. Does it matter if science or ancient wisdom, maybe we can accept the results?
