Fairy in the Thicket

I am continuing to write my book, and have renamed it “Fairy in the Thicket”

The goal is to inspire people to recognize that Neurospicy people are not broken or disordered. We have strengths, weaknesses, stuggles and many paths in our lives. Using a story with a Pucca, sprit being. (Remember Harvey the Giant Rabbit made famous in the Jimmy Stuart Movie?), you will be taken on an adventure. It starts like this:

They call me Trevor McIntosh, Capricorn, Saggitarius, Holander and Fairy in the Thicket.

Harvey is my friend and wise mentor. Chim Chim is my wife and best friend. Harvey of course is what my Grandfather would call a “Pucca”, an Irish legendary Fairy being, not just an ordinary Humpback whale. Chim Chim was my guiding light and fellow traveler on Harvey’s spirit journeys and path through life’s lessons and adventures.

Now in my seventieth year, I can appreciate that my Grandfather was always right. Grandfather was my hero, mentor and head cheerleader.  On my 15th Birthday he told me, “You my lovely Grandson are not flawed or broken. You are a child of God, and he Don’t Make no Mistakes. The Dr’s call you Neurospicy, and label you with ADHD. There was a time when these were not abnormal, but a beautiful manifestation of the Fairies in the Thicket. Don’t let your Dad shame you, believe me, shame is a dead end alley.” “Remember, you are a perfect manifestation, created by God. You are a Fairy in the Thicket, and know that your path will be guided by divine beings, angels, Fairies and spirits. Don’t let anyone tell you that you have a disorder. Bah!” He would exclaim, Attention Defecit Hypersensitity DISORDER! You are perfect just the way you are. I’ll disorder your Father if he doesn’t stop shaming you when you are not as “Perfect” as he is. He is Charlie, an imperfect being, just as we all are. You wait, when I am gone he will fall apart, you wait and see. “

Little did I know that a few scant years later, Grandfather passed into eternity, and my Dad Charlie turned into a monstrous alcoholic, cocaine addict and womanizer. Without Grandfather’s guiding hand and balance, my Dad not only fell apart, but he took his family into the hell that was his path.

With Harvey and Chim guiding my path, and encouraging me, I was able to achieve a balance in my life. The new path that Harvey charted alleviated the pain and struggles that had been my story until that fateful day that Harvey and Chim Chim came into the picture. With their encouragement and guiding force, we were able to destroy the illusions that Charlie, the school systems and society had created. Grandfather was right, I am a Fairy in the thicket.

The story of all these monikers and relationships is a convoluted and strange journey. My hope is that we can unravel this story so that I can understand more clearly and perhaps you might acquire something approximating the nature of reality, as defined by Harvey. Yes Grandfather, you are correct, there is no such thing as disorder. We are all manifestations of the Creator’s perfect worlds.
