What is truth? Isn’t that a great question? Today with inaguaration day, my suspicion is that many people are celebrating, and many people are commiserating this day. Which of these groups are absolutely correct? I know some people who are saying, “Oh my God, Trump is President!” “It’s the end of America!” Many people are saying, “It’s liberation day!” “Yay Trump!” Lest I anger people by taking a side, I will simply ask, how can both people and both perspectives be true at the same time? Again, this a metaphor for truth. Metaphors are are not to be literally applicable to any one point of view.
What is truth? When we read history books, we think, aha, that is truth. On further examination, the stories are told by the winners of wars and conflicts. Would history look differently is the South had Ceded from America? Would the history books look differently if President Lincoln presided over reconstruction? What would the history books look like if Hitler would have developed the Atom Bomb and desimated American cities? Again, these are all metaphors to inspire refelction, not an opinion or endorsement of anything!
More importantly, what is your truth? What is your perspective? When I perform magic illussions, then people figure out how the illussions are done, they have a totally different perspective. People might say, “Oh my God, that is so simple!”
Today and everyday, I can only encourage us to look at all things from a multitude of perspectives, and know that your truth is likely not the same as your neighbor, collegue or anyone else on earth.
As neruospicy people, we have a unique perspective and life history, as do all humans. Let us be open minded and flexible and explore as many perspectives as possible, and be ready to embrace new ideas and new paradigms.
What is a Paradigm, well of course it’s almost a quarter, a pair of dimes.
Blessings for a great week, a great year and a great life.
