Have you seen signs on businesses, health care providers and other venues, “Blue Zone” Providers here? Have you been to a Blue Zone seminar or retreat? What are the Blue Zones?
If you haven’t heard of the Blue zones or want to explore further, I’m attaching a few resources.
Dan Buettner and the Blue Zones can be found on a Netflix Documentary. Basically, they asked the questions, why do so many people in isolated places in the world live over 100 years old? Wow, we just came back from SE Asia, the center of old people populations! What they found is that there are certain habits, and attitudes that are conducive to a long and more importantly perhaps, happy and balanced life. Wow, must be complicated, huh? Actually, nothing new or complicated. Slow down, you go to fast. Take time to take time to take a break and destress.
Eat a balanced diet. Avoid too much alcohol. Incluce lots of fruits and vegetables. Stop when you are 80 % full……
Connect with family, loved ones and nature.
Make exercise a part of your daily life. For instance for me it is gardening. (combines nature with exercise).
Find a purpose and continually work towards achieving the purpose throughout your life.
These are just a few examples of the principles. Wow! Profound and complicated, is it not?? NOT!
